I have sent mail to POSTMASTER@ATTMAIL.COM and I have received no reply yet. Maybe someone out there can answer this one... I have several friends that get their net mail via ATTMAIL.COM. Also, at work, my company uses ATTMAIL.COM to get mail into a VAX based mail system. In all cases, when I receive mail at any of my net accounts around the country, from my friends who are stuck using ATTMAIL.COM, the reply address in their message is incorrect. For example, if a friends mail address is mhs!bigcorp/g=john/s=doe@attmail.com when John Doe sends me a message, the reply address in that message will be bigcorp/g=john/s=doe@mhs.attmail.com If I reply to this address, ATTMAIL.COM will bounce the message and say that MHS is an UNKNOWN DOMAIN or UNKNOWN HOST. What gives here? It seems to me that ATTMAIL.COM must know what/who MHS is otherwise why would it need it to deliever mail to BIGCORP? And why would ATTMAIL.COM not understand a reply address it probably generated itself? Anyone from ATTMAIL out there reading this? -------------------------------------------------------- Hale Landis Santa Cruz, CA USA 408-423-4017 -or- 408-439-2443 landis@sugs.tware.com -or- hale_landis@notes.seagate.com --------------------------------------------------------

Hmm, it seems to work fine for me, even when I originate the mail from outside AT&T. Please mail me the exact bounce message you received, and I'll check into it. You could also send mail to the ATTMAIL Help Desk, atthelp@attmail.com. Chris -- -- Chris Garland, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Christine.M.Garland@att.com
