Info on the VIM spec ?

I read a short notice in a local magazine recently about something
they called the Vendor-Independent-Messaging specification (VIM).
Apparently it was developed/supported by Apple/Borland/Lotus/Novell,
and had to do with cross-platform MHS (?).

Has anyone heard of this VIM spec ?

I'd like all the info I can get: pointers to copies of the spec,
info on what it really covers, etc...
I'll happily summarize e-mailed answers if there is sufficient
interest.

  Thanks,

     -Morten
