My previous post succeeded in finding out some information about PC Hurricane. It is a video capture board that can capture (into 32M ram) approx 16 seconds. Stores in RAM as 16 bit TGA. Using "Xing Technology" software mpeg encoder, it appears to take about 5 minutes to capture and encode a 16 second movie, for a ratio of about 18:1 (18 hours to capture/encode 1 hour of full motion video). It appears that there currently is NOT an inexpensive integrated video capture and mpeg encoder available? Does anyone have a list of 24 bit color capture boards for PC or MAC that capture in real time (ie capture a five second movie in five seconds!). Appears that currently mpeg encoding would have to be a seperate process.? Questions for self, not the company I work for. - Troy Frericks Internet: troyf@MICROWARE.COM Microware Systems Corporation UUCP: uunet!mcrware!troyf 1900 NW 114th St Phone: (515)224-1929 Des Moines, IA 50325-7077 Fax: (515)224-1352
