     No, no, no.

     If at all possible, DO NOT CONNECT the Quantum drive to the PAS 16
card.  The PAS 16 SCSI interface is a LOW SPEED interface designed for
CDROMs, etc.; while the throughput of the PAS 16 SCSI interface is most
than enough for CDROMs, etc., it is nowhere near the throughput of SCSI
controllers designed primarily for use with hard disks.  Also, in order
to connect a SCSI hard disk to the PAS 16 interface, you supposedly need
additional drivers from Trantor (read: additional $$$).

     Connecting a SCSI hard disk to the PAS 16 SCSI interface, when you
already have an Adaptec card, will only SLOW DOWN your system.  If this
is your goal, by all means go ahead.

     I'm not sure what the problem is with the Adaptec 1522.  I'm using
the PAS 16 w/CDROM and an Adaptec 1542A w/HD, and everything works fine.
Maybe you need a newer version of the CDROM driver (TSLCDR.SYS?).

     One of these days, I'm going to move the CDROM from the PAS16 to
the 1542A.
