I am not sure this is the correct group to address this to, but
here goes anyway.

I need to be able to view/play multi-standard Video recordings
(VHS and LVD) but am not sure what the best way to do this is.

I have been told to use a multistandard TV/Monitor and use
multistandard VCR and LVD players.

A second alternative is to use a standard NTSC TV/monitor
but use a VCR/LVD player that does the scan conversion
automatically.

Yet another proposal I have heard is to attach a scan converter
to the TV/Monitor and use multistandard players as in the first
option.

What are the pros/cons of the above approaches. What is the
best solution to this problem and where can one get multistandard
hardware. I hear most are grey market products.

Finally, what are the advantages/disadvantages of various formats,
NTSC/PAL/SECAM/NTSC4.43 and which is expected to yeild the best
PERCEIVED image quality ?

Thanks,

vahe
