Post-doc & PhD position in digital watermarking.
DIGITAL WATERMARKING AND DOCUMENT SECURITY
Applications are invited for two positions as postdoctoral researcher
and PhD student (research/teaching assistant) with the Computer Vision
Group (CVGroup) of the Centre Universitaire Informatique (CUI),
University of Geneva, Switzerland. The successful applicant will be
part of a well established team of researchers developing new methods
for the watermarking of images and video sequences. This work is
carried out in collaboration with our industrial partner Digital
Copyright Technologies (DCT, Zurich), a Swiss company which
specializes in multimedia security. In addition to watermarking the
prototype application includes novel security features this partner
has developed (e.g. legal binding of copyright on the basis of
cryptographic techniques). Our overall aim is to produce fast
transparent solutions that address the real needs of users of Digital
Multimedia in the Information Age.
The candidate for the postdoctoral position is expected to have a PhD
in computer science or closely related field and have a strong
background in any of the following areas: watermarking algorithms,
image and video coding or pattern recognition, communication
theory. The expertise of the ideal applicant should fit the following
profile in decreasing order of importance:
o image and video watermarking
o statistical image processing
o digital communications
o image and video compression and coding
o signal theory
o cryptography
o computer vision
