I was wondering if some of the people who have attended
this conference (? workshop) can comment on how interesting
it was, did you learn anything new, etc.

one reason i ask is the cost of attending; i noticed that
the conference costs 500+ dollars to attend. it seems to have
a sister conference called 'Meeting the Cross Platform Challenge'
which costs 500+ dollars also.

One of the sessions that interested
me most was one described as 'Business and Marketing Panel' which
would cover such issues as budgeting, scheduling etc.

The conferences are run by 'Knowledge Industry Publications',
phone 1-800-800-5474 or 1-914-328-9157.

I've found after a few tries, that the best way to attend a Knowledge
Industry Productions trade show is to skip the *expensive* seminars, go to
the *free* general sessions, and spend a lot of time on the exhibit floor,
watching demos, asking questions, and generally absorbing what is going on
with new technology.

The last show I went to (Image World LA) was pretty much an ego showcase
for Quicktime developers and their herky-jerky little films. When I asked
about DOS platform applications, I was given the brush-off, as if anyone
who didn't have a multi-giga-byte Mac system with Spigots, and every other
bell and whistle, wasn't worth their time.

I would have hated to spend $600+ of my money to go to the seminar series
and get that treatment. You can generally get a free exhibit hall pass by
sending in the coupon in AV-Video or one of the other trade magazines, but
even if you pay the $25-35 for this pass, you come away with gobs of
literature, demo disks, and a good amount of decision making knowledge.

My 2 cents worth.
