TOPIC: The Second Coming of Trip Hawkins - Multimedia Maven to Reveal
Mass Marketing Strategy

Accepting a January speaking invitation from the IICS for the 
second year in a row, Trip Hawkins will discuss how The 3DO Company - 
his latest business venture (formerly known as SMSG, Inc.)- plans to
address the fledgling consumer multimedia market.

Employed at Apple Computer earlier in his career, Hawkins is noted for
founding Electronic Arts, the world's largest supplier of computer
entertainment software. Hawkins' impressive credentials include a
degree in Applied Game Theory and Strategy from Harvard and an MBA
from Stanford.

COST: $10 for non-members, free for all members.
You may join the IICS at the door. Individual $75, Student $40 for
one year plus a one-time $10 processing fee for new members.

DIRECTIONS: Take 101 north to the Van Ness exit. Turn right onto Van
Ness at the bottom of the off-ramp and head North following signs for
the Golden Gate Bridge. After 2.2 miles, turn left onto Lombard.
In a little more than a mile, bear right on Richardson Avenue. Turn
right at Lyon Street, into the Exploratorium parking lot. Go left
around the circle to the main entrance on the north side.

From the east bay, take the bay bridge to 101 North and the Van Ness
exit. Follow directions above.

From Marin, take 101 South across the Golden Gate bridge. Turn right
into the Exploratorium parking lot where the freeway ends at Marina
Blvd.
