XA Multisession cd rom yet?

Is there an xa multisession CD rom drive with a scsi interface
that can be hooked up to a PC? I see lots of XA drives
but no multisession ones. I heard Nec was going to make
a CDR-75 which was supposed to be a multisession version
of the 74, but I haven't seen anything about it.

I think you mean Photo-CD Multisession capable.
I read a blurb from Toshiba that their 3301 drive is multisession
compatible (there is a suffix to it that indicates this)
SOny CDU561 is also compatible.
The Apple CD 300 is multisession capable, but I think it is
just the Sony drive in an Apple box.
There are others, I just can't remember them all at this time.
There is a list on COmpuserve somewhere. I saw references in the
COrel SCSI discussions and they pointed to another forum that
had an older list of capable drives. Maybe it has been updated.
Kodak did release a list early on in the Photo-CD game.
Perhaps they have a more recent one. Give them a call.

The Toshiba 3401 is out and shipping at ~$500 retail, the Toshiba
3301 can be upgraded by the factory to multisession capable for ~$90.

I remember reading about a Sony drive that is XA Multisession capable.
It supposedly is available now, but I do not now if it is SCSI.

I hope to be receiving a Chinon XA Multisession capable SCSI-II drive
sometime this quarter. But I have not yet received a date from Chinon.

On a related question: does anyone know how to get the software to permit
viewing of photo CDs on a photo cd ready machine? Sony's multimedia kit comes
with Tempra Access software which I believe will do this. How does one get
this program or one like it? In photo stores? No one in any photo store I've
been to knows anything about the necessary software.

Thanks.
