I'm creating an application with Toolbook and want to plan for
multiple screen resolutions. I'm designing it in 1024x768, but I'll plan
for other resolutions by finding the resolution at runtime and placing
objects at appropriate locations.
It's a small application but it's still going to be a pain, so my
question is: Is it a bad idea to force a user to run in a certain
resolution? Will it be okay if I only allow 1024x768 and 800x600? Do
many people still use 640x480? Does anyone have statistics about how
many PC users use, or are capable of, each resolution?
