Hello,
HELP, my Windows95 platform is in trouble. My girlfriend is in a bad
mood (she can't feed her virtual dog).
Here is the beginning of the story :
For a friend, I have tested a (not so) compatible sound-cad (mad16Pro)
instead of my classic Soundblaster16.
Since this, the sound is unvailable with my sweet soundblaster.
When I boot this damned message appear =>
"VIRTUAL AUDIO DRIVER INITIALIZATION ERROR : Virtual Audio Driver was
unable to locate the sound system hardware please check your
software/hardware configuration annd restart your computer".
I have tried my usual little tricks :
- with the "system properties/peripherals manager" i have deleted the
line "sound, video and games controler".
- with the "new hardware assistant" I have defined my soundblaster.
Unfortunately it's useless, windows95 refuse to emit any sound (but my
dos games scream all right).
Since then, I can't print with my new HP and some softwares (like
quickres or dogz) cause a general default protection with MMSYSTEM.DLL
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> WHAT CAN I DO ? <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Can yon make any diagnostic ?
Or do you have any proposition to find out where is the problem ?
Do have to reinstall Windows95, my softwares and all my stuff (2,5Go) ?
In advance a big thank.
