Silicon Graphics, a leading supplier of high-performance interactive
computing systems has a Network Analyst position available.

The Site I/S Network Analyst's primary responsibility is to work with
the Site/Corporate I/S Operations and Project Management, Customer
P.O.C. and Peer Teams throughout our customer base to assist in defining
business requirements, provide technical insight, leadership and
solutions in meeting those needs, develop tools and resources to
optimize, analyze and manage these solutions and serve as a resource for
advice, analysis and escalation in design and problem resolution issues.

Education/Experience:  Minimal five years experience in
Communication Design, Installation and Repair of PDS
Infrastructure, LAN/WAN architectures and Remote Access Services.
Experience in hands-on hardware/software installation and
maintenance of large (1,000 node) Ethernet (10Base2, 5 and T),
LocalTalk, FDDI, ATM and Microwave based LAN environments
(repeaters, bridges, gateways, routers, muxes, modems). ISO/OSI
layers 1, 2 and 3 LAN design, installation, analysis and
troubleshooting (Interconnect installation and repair, bridge
filtering, RIP, IGMP and RTMP routing protocols). Network
Diagnostic and Analysis expertise (LAN-alyzer, BERT, RS-232,
Protocol tester). Network Monitoring and Modeling experience
(SNMP, RMON, HP-OpenView, Spectrum). Telecommunications I & R
(Telephony installation and repair, Switch/PBX experience). Flexibility
to work overtime and weekends as needed.
