    Lowell, Mass. (November 4, 1992)--Wang Laboratories, Inc., today
announced four new or enhanced applications for its VS systems.
Available now, these products are the result of Wang's continuing
development efforts to support its VS customers.  Exceeding its
original commitment to announce 37 new products for the VS product
line in 1992, Wang has now brought more than 40 new VS products to
market this year and will continue to introduce new VS offerings.
    The four announced VS applications increase functionality,
capacity, and performance while continuing to build on customers'
investments in Wang VS systems and applications.  With WP Plus 4.0,
Wang has enhanced its VS word processing offerings.  The other new
applications are Desktop Printer Services for Microsoft Windows, the
VS ANSITAPE Utility, and WANGToPS.  Wang will be showing these and
many other VS products at its users' Technetron Conference in Boston,
Mass. on November 9-11.
    "These four applications help our VS customers further leverage
their VS investment," said Donald P. Casey, Wang's executive vice
president and chief development officer.  "The VS continues to be an
important part of Wang's OFFICE 2000 strategy to help our customers
improve their productivity, quality, and service.  We are committed to

product plan."
    Product Highlights
    Wang VS WP Plus is a full-featured, powerful document processing
product that provides advanced editing features and printing
capabilities.  WP Plus 4.0 now includes an interactive foreground
spelling capability with an improved user interface and increased
performance, a system-wide foreground corporate dictionary, global
replace of styles, enhanced repagination, and a system database report
utility.  This consolidation of new functionality within WP Plus 4.0
offers greater flexibility, increased productivity, and improved
performance to fulfill expanding document processing requirements.
Pricing ranges from $1600 to $20,800 per VS.
    Desktop Printer Services for Windows (DPSW) is a new application
for VS or PC LAN users who require VS or PC network printing of their
WP Plus documents, VS WIIS images, and VS data processing files.  DPSW
demonstrates Wang's VS coexistence strategy with available printing
services within VS, PC, and PC LAN environments.  Supported over
multiple communication transports, DPSW enables users to gain access
to a series of advanced printing capabilities.  DPSW is licensed per
VS system at $3500.
    VS ANSITAPE Utility is a software product that reads from tapes
produced according to the 1978 and 1987 American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) standards and writes to tapes according to the 1987
ANSI standards.  A multivendor coexistence product, VS ANSITAPE
Utility supports the open systems environment by enabling users to
transfer their files between VS systems and other vendors' systems.
It is priced at $1200 per VS.
    Wang continues its support of industry-standard printers with the
introduction of a new VS printer application.  WangToPS provides WP
and WPPLUS users with PostScript printing capability on any
third-party PostScript printer, as well as on the Wang LDP Series.
WangToPS pricing per VS system
ranges from $995 to $5300.
