			High Availability for Sun
			From Fusion Systems Group Inc.

Fusion Systems Group Inc. New York, has introduced a high availability
solution for Sun Microsystems called High Availability for Sun. High
Availability is designed to address a system or application failure by
managing a failover from a primary Sun server to an alternate machine.
Developed for real-time transaction processing and other environments
requiring a high degree of reliability, High Availability uses
off-the-shelf dual-ported or dual-hosted mirrored-disk technology,
including SCSI, IPI and RAID as the hardware basis for its
high-availability solution. High Availability provides the software
framework for immediate failover that eliminates all data loss and
service interruption for NFS, NIS, Sybase, Oracle, Informix, and
additional user-defined application services. The product includes
such features as automated takeover of the dual ported or dual-hosted
disks by the alternate machine with provisions for bringing the
original server back on-line automatically. High Availability also
provides a periodic 'heartbeat' protocol between servers to ensure
that each service and machine on the network is operating normally. It
supports existing SCSI, IPI and RAID based configurations, and an
agent toolkit is provided to allow users to add additional services to
be supported by High Availability. For more information call
(212)-285-8001.
