Well there are enough computer and computer related companies in the
Valley: you just go up to them and ask. We have raised thou$and$ this way.
We thought about PDSes (members have done them outside ACM), and we don't
charge for meetings (the Valley has a long history of free computing
meetings although this is changing).
Hardware loans are even more fun, you frequently drive up to a loading
dock and pick up. It helps if a Chapter or Local Group has a cash base
and you go for matching fund grants. The SJ Merc had a full page article
two computing editors ago on raising money and getting donated computers.
