Perhaps the closest thing to what you are looking for involves computer
science accreditation. ACM and IEEE-CS organized the Computing Sciences
Accreditation Board (CSAB) in 1984. Since then, over 100 undergrad computer
science programs have been accredited. To be accredited, a program must
satisfy criteria published by CSAB. These criteria involve curricula,
faculty, students, lab resources, and institutional support. All programs
that are accredited satisfy the criteria, and within the group of accredited
programs, there is no "rating" system.

Note that this accreditation in computer science only exists for undergrad
programs in the U.S. Also, many good programs have never applied for
accreditation, so just because a program is not on the list doesn't mean
that their curriculum would not satisfy the accreditation criteria.

A list of all accredited computer science programs can be obtained from the
CSAB office:

	Suite 209
	Two Landmark Square
	Stamford, CT 06901
	(203) 975-1222
	csab@uconnvm.uconn.edu

A list of all accredited programs in computer science and computer
engineering (the latter being accredited through ABET, the engineering
accreditation organization), was published in the December 91 CACM.
