Is there an ACM local chapter in/around Philly?  I know there are several
student chapters, but their agenda is pretty specialized to meeting their
own needs.  The DPMA is really active in the Wilmington area, but hanging
out with the mainframe weenies (I'm allowed to say that - I used to be a
systems programmer before I reformed :-) ) isn't what I had in mind...

The Southeast PA Chapter meets monthly at the Naval  Air  Warfare
Center,  Aircraft  Division,  Warminster.  That's in Bucks county
where Rt 132 meets Rt. 332. They have speakers on  a  variety  of
topics which are usually related to current R&D efforts.
