The recently signed Communications Decency Act (CDA) has intensified the public debate about free speech on the Internet and kicked off a flurry of lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the new law. Network World Fusion has assembled a panel of experts to discuss the law's ramifications in an on-line conference. Among their topics: "What should network managers do in the wake of the CDA's signing?" The panel includes Barry, associate director of the American Civil Liberties Union; Susan Getgood, marketing director at Microsystems Software, Inc., which sells software for blocking access to specific Web sites; Lee Gesmer, a Boston attorney specializing in high technology and computer law; and David Farber, a professor of telecommunication systems at the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation's board of directors. To read their comments and add your own, point your browser at http://www.nwfusion.com. If you've never logged on before, click on "First Visit" and follow the registration prompts. Once in, click on the CDA button on the top of the home page.
