I have responded via email to him on how to get symposium info. This
year's spring symp is in Atlanta, 4MAY-8MAY. Seminars will be just
before it (2MAY-3MAY) and there is a special Alpha seminar this year.

He also commented on the rumor proposal in the trade press ---
On the front page of Digital Review -- DECUS proposal to do own trade show:

* you probably noticed that no one was quoted in that article!

* it was probably not obvious but they did use the word proposal

As a member of the Board (US), let me say that no formal action on ANY
trade show proposal has been taken. DECUS is always looking at new ways
to do old things and new ways to do new things. The Management Council
does have two task forces looking at trade show proposals. One trade rag
highlighted one proposal several weeks ago (I think that rumor was
titled DECUS and DEXPO to Merge) and now DR is highlighting another
rumored proposal.

The most important issues to me, in the subject of colocated trade
shows, are preserving the culture of the DECUS symposium (in other words
hurting the technical forum) and providing improved services to
attendees. When and if a trade show proposal is made to the Board by the
Management Council, those are the issues upon which I will make my decision.
