The VMS backup format tape reader on the CSNET info server makes use of some non-portable tape I/O interface, 'mtio'. I assume it's some sort of Ultrix or BSD variant. Is there an earlier version that just does opens, closes, reads, and writes? -- Peter da Silva, Xenix Support, Ferranti International Controls Corporation.
