Dear fellownetters,
We are provided a series of pictures in "CGM" formatted files, and
have a lot of VT340 terminals for our users.
Question 1. Does any of you know a conversion program from CGM in
either "sixel" or "regis"(preferred).
Question 2. Does any of you know what how the CGM-format is spelled.
Thanks.

None that I'm aware of, though there are several University-produced (and hence cheap or PD) CGM interpreter `kits'; plugging a library on the tail end of such things is typically not terribly difficult. |> Question 2. Does any of you know what how the CGM-format is spelled. The spec of the format (I assume that's what you're after) is contained in ISO/IEC 8636-1 to -4. Sadly, even though that's just been revised, due to a cock-up by CEN/CENELEC the revised version may not be published (REALLY!) as a national standard in Europe. The latest version is therefore only available (very expensive) direct from ISO in Geneva, or (presumably) from ANSI and other non-European national bodies. -- Robin (come back John Drummond) Fairbairns rf@cl.cam.ac.uk U of Cambridge Computer Lab, Pembroke St, Cambridge CB2 3QG, UK "They had twelve years to lay in wait for us" - Bush supporter on Nov 4
