The member benefits are printed in README as a master list once a
year, summarized in our promotional literature (like the stuff I
posted), and announced in README as new ones are added. Additionally
a master list, with contact information, etc. is posted here every
quarter or so.

Vendors rarely tell us about deals they strike up with the LUGs; they
assume they LUGs are local chapters. If a vendor does offer you a
good deal, more power to you...and why not mention it to us? ;-)
Incidentally, Qualix offers a 15% discount to all SUG members.

The LUGs are separate entities form SUG. If you are a member of SUG,
that does not entitle you to be a member of a dues-charging LUG, and
vice-versa. The formal relationship with the LUGs is that we help
with startup by offering use of our mailing list for your geographic
area; we help maintain the LUGs by allowing them to purchase SUG
products at a bulk rate or discount; and we facilitate and encourage
information exchange between the LUGs. However, you cannot use the
name 'Sun USer Group', our logo or our letterhead - and, in fact,
we've had to request that some of the foreign groups stop doing so.
