Drive your rentacar over the hill to the ocean and visit
Ano Nuevo state reserve where the elephant seals hang out.
Call 415-879-0852 for info.

Then drive on south from Ano Nuevo to Santa Cruz.
Visit the boardwalk, the surfing museum, too. 
Dine on freshest seafood on the big pier.
