As much as it irks me to urge people to contribute to pollution, let me remind attendees that San Diego has virtually no public transportation system in the area of the conference. Whilst taxis are available, and the various shuttles will get you to and from the hotel, airport, and train stations, if you're planning to do any exploring or sight-seeing, you're going to have to have a car. And if the rain doesn't stop soon, the conference center is going to be underwater. Bring a swimsuit. - Brian
