BayLISA will be holding it's monthly meeting in two weeks, March 17, 1994.
Please note that as of this month we are moving our meeting location
to Synopsys. Ken Trant and SGI were more then gracious in their hosting
of BayLISA, and we all thank them both for their generosity. Please note
the new address and directions.

This months speaker will be Jim Litchfield of Sun Soft. Below is his
abstract:

"Jim Litchfield of SunSoft will discuss Solaris 2, its advantages for
administrators and users and why Sun did this in the first place. He'll
also talk about the current release of Solaris 2 and what the near term
plans are for Solaris. Additionally, he will also analyze migration
issues (primarily from an administrative point of view) for customers
considering migration from Solaris 1 to Solaris 2.

Jim's title (made up for his business card) is Western Area OS Technology
Manager. He will also borrow Bill Clinton's bullet proof raincoat for this
  presentation.

Jim has worked with Unix since 1980 when he was first exposed to V6
when working for a government agency in Washington. He has remained
loyal to the faith despite working with VMS for a few years to pay the
bills. He has worked for Sun since 1988 when he abandoned development
in the world of locked doors and windowless rooms for the light and higher
pay of a technical sales position."

Dave Stuit of Synopsys is taking over as editor of our newsletter. If
you are interested in participating please drop him a line (djs@synopsys.com).

If you have any questions or input for the board, please send us a note
(blw@baylisa.org) or find us at the meeting.

Bryan

Synopsys is located at the corner of Highway 237 and Middlefield.
If you are going South on 101 you exit on Ellis street. Turn right
towards Mountain View (not Moffet field). Turn left onto Middlefield.
Go past the light at Highway 237. The next light will be Bernardo,
turn left into the parking lot. Head left to Building C.

If you are going North on 101, exit on to Mountain View (I don't
remember if it's West or South 237, freeways here just don't make
sense). Turn left at Middlefield. It will be the second traffic
light. The next light will be Bernardo, turn left into the parking
lot. Head left to Building C.

Ascii diagram, not to scale :-)
