Please join us at the next meeting of the Washington Area Computer
(WAC) User Group, scheduled on Saturday, March 17th from 12:30 PM to
3:30 PM at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), 4210 Roberts
Road, Fairfax, Virginia. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Preregistration is not required to attend.

Abby Stokes, author of "Is This Thing On? A Computer Handbook for Late
Bloomers, Technophobes, and the Kicking & Screaming," will be at the
March meeting to discuss "Social Networking - What's everyone talking
about when they bring up Facebook. Twitter and blogs? How to enjoy the
benefits of social media without risking the loss of your privacy."

Abby will also sign copies of her book at 12:30pm (available for
purchase at $17 per copy, cash or check).

Abby has demystified computers for over 140,000 people, mostly
seniors, in the course of the past 17 years. Abby has taught courses
in basic computing at both Cooper Union and New York Universityโ€™s
School of Lifelong Learning, as well as computer skills to private and
corporate clients. She has lectured on the topic across the country. A
firm believer that โ€œif my mother can learn the computer anyone can,โ€
Abby is confident that everyone can master the computer and navigate
the Internet.

Also at the March meeting, WAC President Geof Goodrum will give a 30
minute photo tour highlighting new products and technologies showcased
at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

WAC is a non-profit general interest computer user group that supports
the Microsoft Windows and GNU/Linux operating systems. For more
information, visit our web site at http://www.wacug.org/, e-mail
info(at)wacug.org, or call the WAC AnswerLine at 703-370-7649.
