Hi,
I have a freeware Dasher terminal emulator for PC's available via anonymous ftp
from cantva.canterbury.ac.nz [IP: 132.181.30.3] called D460.ZIP in the PC
directory.  It isn't a Windows application but still runs pretty well under
windows. It could do with some enhancements (it is more a D2xx emulator than a
D4xx, but at least its better than a 6052! :-)

If anyone wants improvements, let me know - giving details (e.g. control code
sequences and exactly what should happen).  If there is enough support I might
merge it with my TVI950 and ANSI terminal emulators (which are a bit further
advanced) and add TCP/IP support, Windows frills, and maybe a Unix version.  I
presume nobody is interested in DECnet (CTERM) support??  

By the way, I've been reading Volume 6 of Persoft's Emuletter, where they talk
about version 2.0 of SmarTerm 470 and some Windows versions coming; anyone
tried them or have any more recent information?  But getting a genuine DG
terminal is, I think, the best idea unless you need the PC for other work, 
although I'd probably qualify that statement a lot more if I had the time.

And I'm interested in any terminal emulators for Unix (especially X11 versions)
and Kermit more recent than 5a - so if anyone happens to come across
information please let me know...

P.P.S So you don't remember the 6052? It was the cut-down 6053 (D2) without
      lower case, if memory serves. About the time when a 6053 cost NZ$5000!!
