My sentiments exactly. I here about 'linux with GUI" all the time.
Even in PCWEEK surprisingly ( but then again they failed to see the
power behind VMWARE).
I sitting here trying to decide WHICH gui I should have. Unless there
is some confusion in the public's eyes as to what GUI stands for
(Graphical User Interface for those that don't ) . Which today means
you can click on things and things happen. Well there are a ton of
those that run under linux.
The trouble the world is used to being tied to the ONE 'look' that
identifies a product like M$. Well the world has got to realize that
you can choose from a number of GUI's and call it your own. They
should all work anyway. and you will still be able to go to someone
else's machine and click on a button and something will happen( As all
GUI's tend to do).
Or better yet.. is there a 'Digital Equipment' GUI or for that matter
is there a 'UNIX' GUI?? Then why should there be a 'LINUX' GUI??
Enjoy
