the TeX binaries in the SLS dist. (ie t1/texbin.taz and t4/texmisc.taz) have
been recompiled with gcc2.3.3 and use 4.2 libs. if u need the
/lib/libc.so.4.2 file, either get
 /pub/linux/GCC/image-4.2.TZ or /pub/linux/packages/TeX/libc42.taz.
(the latter is just the libc.so.4.2 shared lib needed to run binaries;
the former has HLU's /usr/lib/ libs for compiling)

all the source for the binaries is in the /pub/linux/packages/TeX dir
(at tsx-11.mit.edu)
