[by the way, 'procps' is a package which implements ps, w, free, etc. using the /proc filesystem for 0.99 and above. If you still use the old ps package you should upgrade to the more elegant (and supported) procps. -mdw] I have put yet another release of the procps suite on tsx-11. This has a few more man pages and several bugs are fixed. If you didn't like the last version, get this one, as you will like it much better. I solicit bug reports on this. tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/BETA/procps/procps-0.4.tar.Z Note the addition of a version number. The version is rather arbitrary, and at the last moment, I decided to make it correspond with the current kernel patchlevel at least right now. I don't expect it to stay that way. Note that the bug with <32K pid's is still there, becase it is a bug in the proc filesystem. It has been fixed, though, for the next patchlevel or release of linux. michaelkjohnson -- Send submissions for comp.os.linux.announce to: linux-announce@tc.cornell.edu
