The key advantages of Kylix over other development tools are the nice RAD interface (good for gui applicaitons and database stuff), the compatibility with its Windows tools, and the extensive run-time library and components. None of these are things that are commonly of benifit on an embedded linux system. However, there is nothing to stop you using it as an IDE for developing other applications - it has a solid editor and debugger. On Windows I have used it (C++ Builder and Delphi) to write small command-line programs that don't use the Delphi libraries at all. But if I didn't have it already (bought for the gui stuff), I'd stick to another editor and gcc. In short, it's a perfectly good IDE (and the object Pascal compiler is very good), but don't think that just because it makes C++ gui programming easier that it will somehow make embedded programming easier. > Thanks > > Sheker
