SCSI: Buslogic ISA w/ Quantum ELS42S slow ?

Hi,

I use a Buslogic BT545C SCSI-2 controller with an old Quantum ELS42S (40 Mb
SCSI-2) and I can't figure out why it's so slow. It does about 800 Kb/s under
DOS which is fairly acceptable regarding the age of the drive, but it does
only 300 Kb/s under Linux. I have tried different kernel versions (1.2 and
1.3), changed some settings in the Buslogic.h file and experimented with
some BIOS settings, but without the desired results.

Can anyone give me some hints what to try next ?

thanks,

Derkjan
