["Followup-To:" header set to comp.os.linux.hardware.] On Wed, 29 Oct 2003 00:26:24 +1030, David E Goble staggered into the Black Sun and said: > I have seen Thermaltake also make a keyboard and mouse combo > <http://www.pluscorp.biz/Product.asp?CategoryID=7&WebsiteID=2&ProdID=3046> > Are there any problems using this on a linux system? Are the special > keys able to be remapped? The keyboard is a normal PS/2 keyboard and will behave as such in most ways. I don't know precisely what the scroll wheel/volume knob will show up as, though. You can make all the special function keys do all kinds of things using xbindkeys and xmacroplay, http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search , search comp.os.linux.x for "xbindkeys xmacroplay". > Otherwise any recommendations on a keyboard and mouse to match the > case. This keyboard looks badly designed to me. The Return key's too large, the \ key's in the wrong place, the cursor keys aren't in the standard "inverted T" pattern, and the Ins/Del..PgUp/PgDn block is laid out sideways. But then I'm weird that way; give me an old IBM Indestructible with clicky-keys or an MS Natural Pro. > Also any comments on the above system. Looks reasonable. I wouldn't get hung up on having the keyboard match the case, though. If aesthetics are your primary concern, get yourself an iLamp or a dual G5. -- Matt G|There is no Darkness in Eternity/But only Light too dim for us to see Brainbench MVP for Linux Admin / mail: TRAP + SPAN don't belong http://www.brainbench.com / "He is a rhythmic movement of the -----------------------------/ penguins, is Tux." --MegaHAL
