I've been getting consistent SCSI timeout errors when trying to install Linux, and finally tracked it down to several bad blocks on my SCSI disk. 'mkswap' simply fails to work if there is a bad block on the disk. Does anyone have a SCSI bad block remapper utility which runs under either DOS or Linux? In the latter case, I'd need to put it on a floppy somehow, I suppose :-) . -- Stephen Walton, California State University, Northridge "Be careful what you wish for; you might get it." swalton@csun.edu
