I have svgalib 1.2.10 and a Trident 9400 with 1 Mb of video dram. svgalib fails to autodetect the card as a Trident (defaults to generic VGA). When I force it to use the TVGA driver, I cannot use 256-colour modes of 640x480 or higher resolution; the screen goes blank and text mode cannot be restored. The TVGA driver says that it is for 8900/9000 TVGA cards. Does anyone know if there is a patch available for the Trident TVGA 9400 or even a generic SVGA driver available; the SVGA X-server works fine with my card? Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.
