G'day,
I hope that I will be able to buy a Pentium PC for Linux soon (work, not
home, unfortunately).
Planned is a Pentium (90/100/120) with PCI cards (only the 3Com ethernet
card will be 16bit ISA) only.
some questions:
what graphic card (PCI) is recommended (17" monitor, 1268x1024) (for X11R6) or
what cards tend to raise problems?
what would be a good PCI-SCSI Adapter that is supported in the
Linux kernels (SCSI for 2 GB HD, DAT streamer, CDROM, 1 external SCSI
port is necessary)?
are there quality or preformance differences between different makes of
Pentium boards (with the same cycle rate, obviously)?
any tips, tricks, warnings?
please send a copy of your answer via email to boettger@hmi.de as well.
Thanks!
Christian
