I have an Opti-Audio 16 (MAD 16) sound card, which was detected when I ran sound_setup: unfortunately, its output is very quiet, even with the volume turned up full, and drops out completely quite regularly. Could anyone suggest what might be going wrong? I thought maybe it is clashing with another device. Here's my /proc/interrupts file:- 0: 2398106 XT-PIC timer 1: 32887 XT-PIC keyboard 2: 0 XT-PIC cascade 5: 1746248 XT-PIC eth0 7: 2 XT-PIC MAD16 WSS 8: 2 XT-PIC rtc 9: 6 XT-PIC MPU-401 UART 12: 440681 XT-PIC PS/2 Mouse 13: 1 XT-PIC fpu 14: 399610 XT-PIC ide0 15: 50348 XT-PIC ide1 NMI: 0 ERR: 0 This looks ok to my novice eyes, but perhaps there is something wrong. Here's the /dev/sndstat file as well in case that helps:- e: Driver loaded as a module Kernel: Linux sys004.bodley 2.2.12 #1 SMP Tue Nov 9 14:11:25 EST 1999 i686 Config options: 0 Installed drivers: Card config: Audio devices: 0: MAD16 WSS (82C930) (DUPLEX) Synth devices: 0: Yamaha OPL3 Midi devices: 0: Mad16/Mozart Timers: Config options: 0 Installed drivers: Card config: Audio devices: 0: MAD16 WSS (82C930) (DUPLEX) Synth devices: 0: Yamaha OPL3 Midi devices: 0: Mad16/Mozart Timers: 0: System clock Mixers: 0: MAD16 WSS (82C930) Thanks for any help.
