A friend of mine, who is a doctor, wants to set up a video security / survelliance system in his office. He and his partners rotate working a late-night emergency shift and video survelliance for insurance (and security) purposes is a bonus. He wants to be able to view the cameras over a (secure) Internet connection using the web. Video needs to be saved to security tape or hard disk, like a rotating log file I suppose. Can anyone offer any suggestions or information on hardware (video, computer) and software to use? Any thoughts on the matter would also be greatly appreciated. I know solutions for my problem exist for NT, but we're looking at using Linux to solve this situation for the obvious reasons we all use Linux!! Thanks. -Steve G.

Have a look at www.inodes.org (Nemesis) a complete video security program for Linux developed by a local OSS developer who's family own a hotel.
