Kernel: 2.2.5-15 (RedHat 6.0 i686)
SCSI:   PCI Adaptec 2940UW
DAT:    Sun 12-24 Gbyte 4mm DDS-3 (HP C1537A)

All looks to be fine when my PC boots (see first block of
diagnostics).  However when I send a command to the tape drive I get
some errors (I compiled st.c with debugging - see second block of
diagnostics) and the command hangs. e.g. 'mt -f /dev/st0 offline'
ejects the tape but hangs and 'ps -l' shows the following:

Could this be a termination and/or cable problem?
