Hi all!

I have just installed ftape-2.08 to be able to use my Seagate Travan Tape
with my brand new PC, on Linux, ... of course.

So, I installed everything according to the installation files from
ftape-2.08, including inserting the ftape.o module with insmod and so on.

The next thing to do is to test the beast by trying to rewind a tape.
after typing:

mt -f /dev/ftape rewind

... I hear a zoom sound coming from my PC, so I'm happy... :-) However,
the LED from my Floppy lits! :-| He tries to rewind the floppy! nogo. :-(

What is wrong?

Is your tape drive plugged into your floppy controller cable, or do you have a high speed controller card? If you've got a controller card, try
changing the card to a different IRQ. Does linux recognize your floppy drive Ok? (ie, did you plug in the cables right?)

What does ftape say in your syslog (do a "dmesg" to see) after you
insmod ftape, and after you try rewinding the tape?
