Well, obviously you didn't set it up properly. If you would post your
setup and your log files, instead of whining about your inability to read
(to find?) the documentation, the problem should be solvable in about ten
seconds...

Rather sparse??? What docs did you read, obviously not mgetty's! The info
file prints to about 55 pages, and man pages + info pages together are
about 4400 lines long!

Well, *this* part sounds like a modem setup problem. Does the modem raise
DCD properly? Which device do you use?

What kind of modem do you use anyway? What computer? What Linux version?
Which shared librarys? Provide informations, man!

Well, if you don't tell us about the symptoms but just whine "it doesn't
work!!!", then we can't help you. Do you expect us to read your computer's
mind?

Send me an mgetty logfile, and I can tell you why it's "respawning too
fast".
