Have you tried removing the Device line and letting the driver figure
out for itself what device you have? Also the 2.x servers had
commands like 'X -probeonly' and 'X -showconfig' which provide useful
info for setting them up. Let me know how you go as I also have an
#9 GXE64 S3 864 and as soon as I get 3.1 I want to install it.
