Lesstif shared libs dont link!!

I'm trying to compile lesstif v0.3, and cannot get the shared libs to
link. The static libs compile fine, but the shared lib linking bombs out
with dozens of 'undefined reference's. It complains of undefined references
to everything from 'main' to other weird functions.
My system is slackware 2.2.0, with a.out binary setup, kernel 1.2.13, gcc
version 2.6.3.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

At a guess, I'd say you're doing something wrong. Yes, in fact I'm almost
certain that you're doing something wrong. Maybe, if you gave a bit more
info, and some logs of the compiler output, we might be able to figure
out just exactly what that is. Good idea or what?

p.s. Hint: you're not supposed to try and do a final link on libraries.
