You don't. MS-Wind'95 has no software that will recognize any Linux-
native file system.

If you want to install a Linux system on an MS-Wind'95 system, you
should first back up and re-install the Wind system. (Supposedly, the
version of FIPS that comes with a distribution containing Linux 2.*
would work on an MS-Wind'95 file system; but I tend to be antsy about
trusting such things.) Before you re-format the disk, shorten the
MS-Wind'95 FAT partition to be (well) under 1024 cylinders long. Then
install MS-Wind'95 on the smaller partition, and restore all of your
files. DO NOT DO ANYTHING UNDER MS-WIND'95 WITH THE REST OF THE DISK.

When you install Linux on the disk, it will allow you to set up its own
partitions. Use Linux 'fdisk' to set up Linux partitions. Use MS
'fdisk' to set up MS partitions. Be sure that the "root" partition for
Linux is entirely under the 1024-cylinder mark.

You will be able to mount MS-Wind'95 file systems, either as regular
MS-DOS file systems under Linux 1.*, or as MS-Wind'95 file systems
under Linux 2.*.

Be sure to install LILO or some other means of choosing to boot from
either Linux or Wind.

When it's time to undo this, if you should ever want to (and why would
one ever want to, except to completely eliminate the MS-Wind'95
partition?), first use 'lilo' or whatever else you've installed to
restore the MS-Wind'95 boot sector(s). Then, use either Linux or MS
'fdisk' to remove the Linux partitions - but not running from your
Linux "root" partition! Then back up your MS-Wind'95, re-partition and
re-format the disk, re-install MS-Wind'95 [not recommended ;-)], and
restore your MS-Wind'95 files.

Best of luck!
