I don't know if anyone is familiar with NaviSofts server, but they just
put out a version for linux. It supports multi-threading,
multi-IP/domains, completely extensible, even comes with a built in page
counter and the source code for it (page counter).
Only draw back is that you don't get the source to compile it yourself but
the developers are good at trying to help you out. You can find it (and
information about it) at http://naviserver.navisoft.com.
Personally i'm biased as I work for them, but you should take a look at it
anyway, its free and can't hurt (and I think its better than the others).

I haven't used the linux build yet (going to install it tonight) but I use
the SGI and HP versions on a regular basis and they are pretty good.
(Those versions also come with a backend database that is not made for
linux (but there is a driver to connect the linux server to a database)).

Just my $0.000000015
