ghostscript installation; differences between root or normal user

Hi,

I installed from source ghostscript 8.53, and it runs perfectly from the 
root account, but from a normal user there is an error "AFPL Ghostcript 
Unrecoverable error, exit code 1", what could I do for a normal user to be 
able to use it without these errors ?
