G'day all, I have a few questions. 1. I once had a stubborn process that would not die, kill -9 did not work. It eventually disappeared after the process list cycled through. However, is it possible to kill it by removing /proc/PID where PID is the PID of the offending job? Would this cause the end of the universe as we know it? 2. Setting up PPP on a server. I have found that some dial-up users can get around with no problems using particular IP addresses, but others cannot. There does not appear to be any range of IP's that work and I cannot find any reference to any restrictions on the IP's I use. By this I mean the last part of our class C address space. Any thoughts on this. Thanks as always, Dave.
