Assignment description:
This assignment requires extensive embedded systems software development in
GPS navigation systems.
Strong C language usage preferably using Real-Time Operating Systems such as
VxWorks or Linux is a must.
Real-Time systems analysis and development using x86 processors.
Definition and documentation of system requirements, design requirements and
interfaces requirements and user manuals.
High level definition of system and software test plans.
Occasional proposal writing work.
This staff level position offers the right individual work leadership while
providing training to lower level professional staff.

Ideal candidate:
Candidate will have a long successful track record implementing "hard"
Real-Time embedded software systems on GPS or GLONASS navigation equipment
products.
Candidate is thoroughly familiar with the whole software development
life-cycle and has taken designs from preliminary design through unit test,
system integration testing and customer acceptance.
Experience with certification or ISO-9001 or MIL_STD processes a plus.
Candidate has worked in Safety-of Life software applications such as
Avionics, train signalling, or medical applications.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong sense of teamwork.

Required background knowledge:
Minimum 5 years experience in developing scientific or industrial software
systems.
Experience must include design, coding, testing, and performance analysis.
Good knowledge of at least one commercial RTOS, Unix/Linux, the use of
embedded C/C++ compilers, debugging tools, and code profilers.
The candidate will have knowledge of software engineering and quality
standards.

Education:
Bachelor, Master of Science or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Physics or
Engineering.
