Hi there, a friend of mine has the following problem: KHOROS comes with a function to do a rpc (remote procedure call). This function is called 'kexec' (similar to 'exec') calling kexec: kexec -c "ls -l" -m "earth" -c -> program to execute -m -> remote host kexec works without errors when paramter -m is omitted (-m is optional and the default value is the own host) If he chooses a remote host (the host is known in the network) kexec aborts with the following error message: socket_connect: Cannot set option (_LINGER FALSE )....: Protocol not available An other message (probably the same problem) appears when he use startx (openwin): Setting TCP SO_LINGER: Protocol not available no SIOCGIFCONF .... But this has no effect on the work of the window-manager. The Question is, which protocol is not available, and how can he make it available ? Thanks a lot and please mail to the following address --- Jens Fischer sylvaner@imperfekt.zfe.siemens.de
