The chief benefit of the global newsgroups (I'm speaking of
comp.os.linux.networking here) is that the audience is as large as possible.
This really only works if the largest possible number of people has a decent
shot at understanding the messages. I've answered non-English posts in email
or occasionally answered them in English on the newsgroup, but I wouldn't
follow them up in the other language. I assume others feel the same way.
